With the ever-increasing demand for alternative fuels comes the need for new and inventive technology to increase efficiency and help reduce capital investment and operational costs. SRS, a leader in separations technology, is applying a new methodology to the Alternative Fuels industry. With the skyrocketing price of vegetable oil, there is much interest in algaculture, which is farming algae to harvest for making biodiesel, bioethanol, biogasoline, biomethanol, biobutanol and other biofuels. SRS is currently developing systems that will be required for harvesting, cell lysis, extraction of oil and other high value components, solid waste separation, and purification of water and other waste streams.
